R.I.P. Challenge

I'd completely forgotten it was the time of year for this!  Carl over at Stainless Steel Droppings (a snazzy bookish blog I've long neglected - sorry Carl!) is hosting the fourth annual Readers Imbibing Peril challenge.  It's fall and 'tis the season for spooky stories.  This challenge runs from September 1 to October 31, and the thing is to read books from the any of thefollowing genres: Mystery; Thriller; Dark Fantasy; Gothic; Horror; Supernatural.  Woohoo, right up my alley!  There are four different versions of the challenge, or Perils, to choose from, and I think I'll go with:

Read four books of any length, from any subgenre of scary stories that I choose.  I will then review each book and link it to the R.I.P. review website.  As of now I have no idea what I'll read, but I'll work on coming up with a good reading pool pronto!
